Privacy Policy

Kwesi Daily Tech Brief · Effective 17 October 2026

This policy explains what information Kwesi Daily Tech Brief (“the app”, “we”) collects when you use it, how that information is used, and the choices you have. The app is operated by Kwesi Dadson, Tema, Ghana.

1. Information we access from Google

When you sign in with Google, you are asked to grant the app access to:

Basic profile: your name and email address (openid, email, profile). Used to create your account and to know which address to send the brief to.
Send email on your behalf (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.send). Used only to send the daily tech brief to your own email address.

The app does not request access to read, search, modify or delete your emails, contacts, calendar, files or any other Google data.

2. How we use this information

To sign you in and keep your account.
To send you the daily tech brief by email.
To contact you about the service, for example if delivery fails.

The content of each brief comes from public news sources. It is not generated from your Google data.

3. Information we store

Your name and email address.
An OAuth access/refresh token from Google, so the brief can be sent each day without you signing in again. Tokens are stored encrypted.
Your brief settings (for example delivery time or topics), if you set any.
Basic delivery logs (date, time and whether the email was sent) for troubleshooting.

We do not keep copies of the emails sent from your account beyond what is in your own Gmail “Sent” folder.

4. Sharing

We do not sell, rent or share your Google user data with anyone. We do not use it for advertising. Data is only disclosed if required by law, or to the infrastructure providers that host the app (who process it on our behalf and cannot use it for their own purposes).

5. Google API Services User Data Policy

Kwesi Daily Tech Brief's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Google user data is used only to provide the features described above. It is not used to develop, improve or train generalised AI or machine-learning models, and humans do not read it unless you ask us to (for support), it is needed for security or legal reasons, or the data has been aggregated and anonymised.

6. Retention and deletion

We keep your information while your account is active.
You can stop the app at any time by removing its access at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Once access is revoked, no further briefs are sent.
To delete your account and all stored data, email [email protected]. We delete it within 30 days.
Accounts with revoked access are deleted automatically within 30 days.

7. Security

Data is sent over HTTPS, tokens are encrypted at rest, and access to the servers is restricted to the operator.

8. Children

The app is not intended for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Significant changes will be emailed to users.
